Solution walkthrough

Occupancy, queues and people flow

Understand how spaces are used, where queues form and when teams need to intervene. Connect the observations to staffing and site operations.

Example workflow: Retail, hospitals, airports and venues.

Discuss this use case

The operating problem

A store, hospital reception or venue needs to understand where people are waiting and when to add capacity. Periodic walk-throughs give only a snapshot, while a raw camera feed leaves the operational decision with someone watching continuously.

From input to action

How it works.

  1. 01

    Map the space

Define counting lines, queue zones and congestion areas around the actual camera coverage and the decisions an operations team needs to make.

  2. 02

    Build a useful signal

Aggregate people counts, queue length and dwell observations into time windows. Handle repeat observations and camera interruptions in the site logic.

  3. 03

    Connect to operations

Show trends and threshold events to the duty team. Record interventions so staffing changes can be evaluated against what happened at the site.

What we deliver

  • Zone-level occupancy and queue views
  • Threshold and notification rules
  • Trend reports for operating teams
  • Site validation and source-health monitoring

What to measure

Agree a baseline and acceptance targets around the operating outcome.

  • Count error against sampled manual observations
  • Queue length and wait-time trends
  • Response time after a capacity threshold is reached
